Health On The Move : Cat Island

Last week, the Minister and accompanying delegates toured key healthcare facilities on the island of Cat Island as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in The Bahamas. The delegation visited the Stevenson Site, an 11,000 square foot primary healthcare clinic funded through the Inter-American Development Bank project. Strategically located midway along the island, this facility will expand access to primary care services and improve healthcare delivery for residents throughout Cat Island. The team also toured the Bight Community Clinic, funded by the Ministry of Health and Wellness. The new clinic is 99 percent complete and will soon provide modern, upgraded healthcare services to the surrounding community. These investments support the Government’s commitment to expanding primary healthcare, modernizing clinic facilities, and ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare services across the Family Islands.
