l fotografo del Vangelo tra i sassi di Matera

#gediwatch #pasolini #thegospel Behind that iconic photo of Pier Paolo Pasolini in Matera lies the story of a meeting. It was between the director, whose 100th birthday this year marks, and the photographer behind that shot, politician and photographer Domenico Notarangelo, who guided Pasolini in his search for the right faces for The Gospel According to Matthew, which was filmed in Basilicata. Also working as an extra, Notarangelo had the opportunity to capture unique images on set and part of the archive now preserved by his children. He also had the opportunity to discuss with the filmmaker the particular moment a city undergoing great change was experiencing, just as the Sassi were being emptied. A perfect location for the revolutionary Jesus depicted by PPP. by Gianvito Rutigliano The story was published on Gedi Watch, the digital magazine of the Gedi Group: every week, we cover current events and local personalities in exclusive reports by our videographers.
