Walk along El Caminito del Rey (The King's Little Path) is a spectacular, albeit once dangerous, walkway pinned along the steep walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro, near Ardales in the province of Málaga, Spain, offering breathtaking views and a unique hiking experience. The walkway was built in 1901 and completed in 1905 to facilitate access for workers between two hydroelectric power plants. "The King's Little Path": King Alfonso XIII crossed the footbridge in 1921 for the inauguration of the Conde del Guadalhorce dam, hence the name. Deterioration and Closure: Over time, the walkway fell into disrepair and, despite being closed, became a popular spot for thrill-seekers, resulting in tragic deaths. Restoration and Reopening: After a 15-year closure and a major restoration project, the Caminito del Rey reopened in 2015, transforming it into a safe and scenic walk.
