Cuncordu Sos Zovanos de Su Rosariu - Miserere (Chida Santa 2019)

Santu Lussurgiu, April 19th, 2019 (Good Friday) Su Cuncordu Sos Zovanos de su Rosariu from Santu Lussurgiu (Sardinia) sings one fragment of the Miserere (Psalm 50-51, Latin text) during one of the stops of the traditional procession that accompanies the Good Friday Rite of "S'Iscravamentu," (the deposition of the Christ) during the Holy week paraliturgical celebrations. This young group is related to the village Rosariu confraternity and its originally formed by Nicola Migheli ('Oghe), Sergio Scalas (Cuntraltu), Antonio Meloni (Contra) and Tonio Cadau (Bassu). For this particular performance, the Bassu part is performed by Giovanni Ardu, one of the singers from the Cuncordu 'e su Rosariu, an institution of the multipart singing tradition of the village. Stationing very near to the singing group, the other three singers from the legendary Cuncordu e 'Su Rosariu (Mario Corona, Contra, Antonio Migheli, 'Oghe, and Roberto Iriu, Cuntraltu), listen closely to the performance.
