In a circulating video of the arrest, officers confirmed the identity of the detained man as Taufik Hidayat. Police stated that the arrest process went smoothly and that the man was cooperative. "Thank God, we have secured him. Taufik Hidayat is cooperative and will provide a clear statement at the office," said an officer during the arrest, via video received by the KompasTV team. Meanwhile, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi welcomed the news of the arrest. He expressed his appreciation to the West Java Regional Police for successfully apprehending the perpetrator of the violence. "On behalf of the people of West Java, on behalf of humanity, on behalf of law enforcement, on behalf of conscience, we express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the West Java Regional Police Chief and all his staff," said Mulyadi. Mulyadi stated that the perpetrator, Taufik Hidayat, had been arrested in Majalaya. He hopes the perpetrator receives a punishment commensurate with his actions. "Hopefully, Brother Taufik Hidayat will receive a punishment commensurate with his actions, which violate the boundaries of humanity," he said.
