Ormuri Language Ormuri is an Eastern Iranian language spoken by the Ormur people, primarily in the Baraki Barak district of Logar Province, Afghanistan, and in the town of Kaniguram in South Waziristan, Pakistan. It is considered a highly endangered language, with only a few thousand speakers remaining. Ormuri is notable for its unique linguistic features, which distinguish it from other Iranian languages, and it has preserved archaic elements that provide valuable insights into the historical development of the Iranian language family. Efforts to document and revitalize Ormuri are ongoing, as the language faces the threat of extinction due to the dominance of Pashto and other regional languages.
