【猫と東北 6泊7日】第1話 前沢牛 厳美渓 角館武家屋敷通り

Episode 1 of my 2026 Golden Week Tohoku Trip First, I enjoyed Iwate Prefecture's brand-name wagyu beef, Maesawa beef, at the renowned restaurant Gyusho Ogata. I had the seared fatty tuna rice bowl and seared fatty tuna nigiri. You can enjoy the deliciousness of Maesawa beef at a reasonable price. I decided to skip the Chūson-ji Golden Hall, a World Heritage site in Hiraizumi, because I would have gotten soaked (laughs). I quickly moved to the Genbikei roadside station and spent some time relaxing with the cats. The next day, the rain stopped, and I headed to Genbikei in the morning. I intended to be the first to try the Kakkō Dango (flying dumplings), but I was stunned to find a line of about 20 people already waiting. After waiting 40 minutes, I finally got my hands on the Kakkō Dango, which was even more delicious than I expected. We even went to a shop and ordered extra dango (rice dumplings). In the afternoon, we took the Tohoku Expressway to the Akita Expressway to Kakunodate in Akita Prefecture. Perhaps it was divine punishment for the couple who complained about the Akita Expressway? Our Nekoplus van was subjected to the terror of a storm. However, the wind subsided when we arrived in Kakunodate, and we strolled along the samurai residence street and bought some local sweets. We were very satisfied after eating Akita's famous Babahera ice cream and kiritanpo (rice dumplings). Finally, we drove through Akita City to the Tenno Roadside Station at the base of the Oga Peninsula in preparation for sightseeing the next day. We ate something that made us think, "Dinner in Akita? Is this it?", and spent a relaxing time with our cats.
