Testing resistance with a multimeter on other connectors doesn't show anything because the terminals aren't connected. They only connect when you press the button, so if you just hold it up to the button, you won't see anything. However, since the ILL (lighting) terminals are always connected (+) and (-), resistance is naturally measured. Even if you randomly selected any of the six terminals (there are roughly 15 possible scenarios?), only the lighting would be measured. You need to carefully research the difference between regular fiber optics and surface-emitting fiber optics. High-end models of this vehicle come with standard ambient lighting, which I installed in the same location. For vehicles without this option, you'll need to choose the location yourself. Personally, I recommend not installing it if the fiber optics are exposed during the day. It's unsightly. Unless you primarily drive at night, it's probably better not to. Standard is best. If ambient lighting is an option, I definitely recommend adding it when your car is new. Alternatively, I recommend spending the money to a company that does it as cleanly as the standard.
