The Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage | Windows, Flags & Textural Stitches | Block 5 Ep 2

In this episode of The Stitched Village: Homes Around the World, I’m continuing Block 5: The Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage and finishing the little lighthouse by the sea. This slow stitched coastal block began with a dyed blue vintage quilt block, layered old fabrics for the sand and ocean, and a lighthouse made from scraps of red and blue fabric. In this video, I’ll be adding more detail to the lighthouse, stitching in the windows, adding little flags, and bringing the whole coastal scene together with final slow stitched touches. I love how these small details start to give the lighthouse its own character — a tiny stitched place of shelter, light and story within The Stitched Village. Each block in The Stitched Village can be enjoyed as a one-off mini quilt, or you can stitch the blocks as a series and join them together to create a larger quilt. Each little home becomes its own finished textile piece while also becoming part of a growing stitched village. Thanks so much for stitching along with me. ❤️
