I was invited by the Kitami Symphony Wind Orchestra in Hokkaido, and this was my second visit, this time for a lesson in preparation for a competition. I imagine I was tedious and persistent, and probably annoyed everyone, but I believe this piece should be performed according to classical music conventions, and failing to do so would greatly diminish its high artistic value. Therefore, regardless of what anyone thought, whether they found me annoying or disliked me, I approached this with the determination to fulfill my duties within the limited time available, always with the utmost love for the music and for the performers. Graduated at the top of his class from Tokyo University of the Arts High School, Leipzig University of Music, and Berlin University of the Arts Graduate School. Holds the German National Performer's Qualification. He is a full-time lecturer at the German National Music School, a soloist with the Menuhin Music Foundation, a contract member of the Nordhausen Opera House, and has made numerous guest appearances with symphony orchestras both in Japan and abroad, including the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra and the Gewandhaus Orchestra, performing in over 3,000 concerts to date. He is also the music director of the Hokkaido Tokachi Shimizu Wind Orchestra. He conducts guest conductor duties, judges competitions, provides school instruction, and gives private lessons both domestically and internationally. Wind band instruction experience: He has instructed over 100 junior high, high school, and university schools nationwide. He has also instructed wind bands and high schools in Taiwan, and given private and group lessons in China and South Korea. For those in remote locations, he utilizes online lessons, and also composes and arranges music for guest conducting and ensemble competitions. Currently, he holds wind band workshops and academies open to everyone throughout Japan.
