1778 SIEGE OF BOONESBOROUGH REENACTMENT (2021)! HISTORY!
We visited the 2021 reenactment of the Siege of Fort Boonesborough lead by Chief Blackfish of the Shawnee. Daniel Boone had earlier in the year been captured with other settlers at Blue Licks while making salt and brought back to Chillicothe, near modern day Xenia, Ohio where he was adopted by Chief Blackfish into his family. When Boone got work that the Shawnee were planning an attack on the fort where his family was, he escaped and ran all the way back to the fort in only 4 days to warm them. The Shawnee were not successful in destroying the fort and later Daniel Boone was tried but later acquitted for treason due to the fact that it had been believed that he sold the salt makers out to save his own neck. This video shows highlights form 2021's reenactment and if you use your imagination, you can place yourself right in the battle!
