Ein weiterer Tag im Skitouren Paradies: Flüela Wisshorn (弗呂拉白角), 3085 m.ü.M.

The night before Easter Monday, April 18th, was clear and cold. The weather forecast promised splendid weather, fulfilling all the requirements for a successful spring snow tour. We chose the 3085-meter-high Flüela Wisshorn. Shortly after 6:00 a.m., we set off from the winter closure barrier at 2000 meters. The route follows the pass road up to about 2200 meters. From there, it essentially follows the summer trail to the Winterlücke (Winter Gap) at 2786 meters. We continue along the northeast ridge until we traverse into the steep north face, reaching the ski depot at the saddle of the northeast ridge at 2900 meters. The final ascent is made on foot along the ridge, where crampons and an ice axe are helpful. ``` On March 18, 2019, a large debris avalanche broke loose from the west face of the Wisshorn, reaching as far as the summer trail and triggering a snow avalanche that only came to a stop at the pass road. The mountain has been quiet since then, but the risk of rockfall on this route cannot be ruled out.
