SPAGN Conference 2026: The power of the patient’s contribution to research
The session explored how patients can actively shape sarcoma research through patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and research biospecimens. Speakers highlighted the growing importance of capturing patients’ experiences, quality of life, and treatment impacts alongside traditional clinical outcomes, while emphasizing the need for more sarcoma-specific measurement tools. Discussions also focused on the critical role of tissue and blood samples in advancing research, the challenges of sample collection and consent, and the importance of patient engagement, collaboration, and data sharing to drive better treatments and outcomes for future sarcoma patients.
