Many months of searching, a lot of uncertainty, the phrase "you can't have children naturally," trying IVF, etc. A very long road, very costly financially and emotionally. A very hard road that tests your integrity, your relationship, and yourself. Nothing is going as expected. I was hoping to decide to get pregnant and stay pregnant. Stop taking the birth control pill, wait a month or two, and then stay. But nothing happened. It was a difficult path. IVF costs a lot of money. Around 7,000 euros in my case. And the worst part is that no one guarantees that it will work. And if it doesn't work, what will we do? Wait for the social security to call us, which might happen in two years, and if my chances were slim already, they'll be even slimmer now. I couldn't wait. Going through IVF was hard, but waiting 15 days after fertilization was horrible! I knew that many women had positive results a few days before their missed period. But they asked me to wait at least 5 days after my missed period. In fact, they were going to do a blood test to confirm it. But you can imagine, I couldn't wait. I felt weird, but maybe it was all psychosomatic. I couldn't wait any longer. Besides, it was going to be Father's Day... it would be a perfect day to break the news (unless he was with me at the time). But I wanted to surprise him. This time it had to work. I had to be pregnant. I woke up at 7 a.m., went into the bathroom, peed... and FINALLYYYYYY we had done it!! I was PREGNANT!! I started shaking, crying, I was scared. I could fail, so I had to be cautious and take care of myself, wait for the little lentil to latch on properly. I was so scared. I put a free flower in the test and woke up DAD. Honey, we did it...
