Alpe Adria Trail - Wanderung - Etappe 5 nach Flattach

In September 2018, we (Linde & Karsten) hiked the first five stages of the beautiful Alpe Adria Trail (a long-distance hiking trail), which stretches over 700 km from the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe (near the Großglockner) to Trieste on the Adriatic coast. Except for our final (fifth) stage, we followed the official route and the suggested stage destinations from the book "Alpe Adria Trail - From Glacier to Sea - Hiking in the Garden of Eden," which describes a total of 43 stages. This fifth stage officially starts in Stall and ends in Innerfragant. However, we only followed this route as far as the Rollbahnweg (a former railway line converted into a cycle path) and then descended to Laas via the "Alten Grafenberger Weg" (Old Grafenberg Trail). From there, we hiked a section of the sixth stage to Flattach, where our accommodation was located. We covered approximately 23 km. ...
