Alpe Adria Trail - Wanderung - Etappe 1 nach Heiligenblut

In September 2018, we (Linde & Karsten) hiked the first five stages of the beautiful Alpe Adria Trail (a long-distance hiking trail), which stretches over 700 km from the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe (at the Großglockner) to Trieste on the Adriatic coast. Except for our final (fifth) stage, we followed the official route and the suggested stage destinations from the book "Alpe Adria Trail - From Glacier to Sea - Hiking in the Garden of Eden," which describes a total of 43 stages. This first stage, officially 13.1 km long, starts at the Großglockner (Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe) and ends in Heiligenblut. In the video, the "Sandersee" was mistakenly called "Sandnersee." This first stage, officially 13.1 km long, starts at the Großglockner (Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe) and ends in Heiligenblut.
