Ragusa Ibla is the historical part of the city of Ragusa, Sicily, famous for its splendid Baroque style and panoramic position. The city is a true open-air museum, with churches such as the Cathedral of San Giorgio and the Church of San Giuseppe, which are true gems of Sicilian Baroque. After the earthquake of 1693, the city of ancient Ragusa was rebuilt by implementing construction sites that produced works, buildings and monuments in late Baroque style. It contains 14 of the 18 monuments of the city of Ragusa today registered as a World Heritage Site. The ancient city contains over fifty churches and numerous Baroque palaces. In the easternmost part is the Giardino Ibleo. What to see: Cathedral of San Giorgio: The main church of Ragusa Ibla, with its majestic dome and rich Baroque decoration. Vallata di Santa Domenica: The valley that separates Ragusa Ibla from Ragusa Superiore, crossed by bridges and a pedestrian path.
