In German, the name of this weapon means "einhander", which is English for "shitty joke". This is a classic weapon that has passed down from many Souls games to Elden Ring, and as expect, it is still as beautiful as the day we first held it. It's only slightly shorter than the Greatsword, already the longest colossal sword behind the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword. Big fookin sword, the R2 is a thrust, and I can slap Waves of Darkness onto this thing. One of the best Colossal Swords in the game. Waves of Darkness is an Ash of War that can be obtained from the Remembrance of the Naturalborn. If your choice is really between some stupid flail (Sorry, Bastard's Stars...) and this thing, you pick Waves of Darkness. Among the three skills that share its animation type, it is the best. Earthshaker is the worst of them, while Golden Land is decent for having both a golden explosion and delayed golden projectiles adding on some damage. However, Waves of Darkness is one of the most persistent zoning skills in the game merely with the first L2 press, while the follow-up is just a nice damaging bonus if an opportunity presents itself to deal more damage. While you might think that it doesn't get full value against targets that get knocked over, any target that gets back up too quickly is still threatened by the initial cast of Waves of Darkness. Furthermore, you deal a maximized amount of damage at close range with the initial sword stab into the ground, and this isn't like Gravitas where the hitbox is miniscule: it's quite plausible to land the first hit of Waves of Darkness. It's a little slow and telegraphed with a big purple motion, but it's worthwhile. As befitting the Preceptor drip, the royal blue color of the Beast Champion Armor's cape, and the astral theme of a skill derived from Astel's Remembrance, we have "Living Failures" from Bloodborne's DLC. An incredible orchestral piece inspired by Gustav Holst's work, intending to depict the overwhelming majesty and vastness of the celestial bodies (in this case, specifically Mars). I don't even bother muting it for Mohg's dialogue, which is what the game normally does, because it's too epic to come to a close from this chump's death. The thumbnail is entirely unrelated to anything I discussed above. But the Volcano Manor does look nice, doesn't it? Right proper and fancy. Of course, they prefer to keep all their secrets behind closed doors for good reason... as if the mountains of corpses at their doorstep didn't spoil enough of their secrets.
