THE LOVE OF GETHSEMANE — PRAISE WORSHIP "Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours be done." — Luke 22:42 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ That night was no ordinary one. After the Last Supper, Jesus led his disciples to the garden of Gethsemane — an ancient olive grove at the foot of the Mount of Olives. He said to them: "Sit here while I go and pray." He took Peter, James, and John a little way off — "about a stone's throw" — and then went on alone. Luke 22:41. And there — away from everyone — the Creator of the world knelt down. Luke 22:44 says: “And being in agony, he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became as drops of blood falling down to the ground.” Think about that. The Son of God — sweating like blood. Not because he was weak. But because he was carrying the weight of all our sins. All of them. Everyone’s. Yours. Mine. He could have prayed to the Father — and legions of angels would have helped him right away. Matthew 26:53. But he didn’t. Instead, he said: “Not my will, but yours be done.” This is the love of Gethsemane. It’s not just a love of words. It’s not just a love of feelings. It’s a love that deliberately chose pain — for you. While his disciples slept — he stayed awake. While they all forsook him — he stayed. When darkness came — he stood. And at that very hour — the plan of your salvation went forward. An angel descended to strengthen him. Luke 22:43. He stood. He touched his face. He went forward.
