The Pallot STEAM, MOTOR & GENERAL MUSEUM. Jersey Channel Islands Tourism. Peckett saddle tank.

The Pallot Steam, Motor & General Museum in the Channel Islands on the Island of Jersey, UK. For Jersey Tourism this transport museum certainly ranks as highly worth a visit. When you are on the Island, pick up the leaflet for directions – it is on the bus route from St. Helier - and make sure you see this amazing and extensive collection of vehicles, locomotives, machinery and memorabilia. This video is in three parts. Part 1 is the steam ride behind the Peckett 0-4-0 saddle tank. Try to make sure you visit on a Thursday, as currently it is the only day when the steam train runs. Part 2 is a view of the Museum that has an extensive collection of Cars, Commercial Vehicles, Military Vehicles, Steam Traction Engines, Vintage Bicycles and Toys, Historic Farm Machinery, Engineering Machinery, Commercial Machinery, Organs, Musical Instruments and Memorabilia. Part 3 is a visit behind the scenes showing machinery that is used to maintain the museum’s collection. In this video I have also included some scenes where the engineering machines that the Germans left behind from the WW2 Jersey occupation are presented. I recommend that you do a little research into the founder of the collection, the late Lyndon ‘Don’ Pallot. His story is very interesting: how he started the collection and his experiences throughout the WW2 Jersey occupation by the Germans. The Island of Jersey is a great holiday tourist destination with plenty to see and do and it also includes sunshine and some fabulous beaches!
