Level relays are devices that, to work correctly, need accessories called electrodes. Electrodes are responsible for sending flow signals to the meter, and through this, converting the flow signal into an electrical signal. It has a potentiometer on the front for adjusting the resistivity of the liquid. This level relay controls the level of conductive liquids, but its use in flammable liquids is prohibited. The lower type level relay (for emptying) compares the current flowing between the submerged electrodes connected to it, according to the value selected in the front sensitivity adjustment. When the liquid with the submerged reference electrode (RE) comes into contact with one of the two electrodes (ES or EI), the relay will be activated to turn on the pump to keep the reservoir empty. The top-type level relay (for filling) compares the current flowing between the submerged electrodes connected to it, according to the value selected in the front sensitivity adjustment. When the liquid with the submerged reference electrode (RE) comes into contact with one of the other two electrodes (ES or EI), the output relay is activated to turn on the pump to keep the reservoir full. Depending on the liquid used and the distance between the electrodes, there will be different conductivities in each application. Due to this, there is a need to make a sensitivity adjustment located on the front of the equipment.
