Legendary Duo at American University Kermit Washington and Lloyd Mayes were teammates during the 1971–72 and 1972–73 seasons. Kermit Washington: A dominant force who became one of only seven players in NCAA history to average 20 points and 20 rebounds per game throughout his career. He was a First Team All-American in 1973 and holds the school record for points at home (40 vs. Georgetown). Lloyd Mayes: A 6'5" forward who played two seasons for the Eagles (1971–1973) after transferring from the University of Minnesota, Crookston.
