This Wasn’t the Plan… But It Changed Everything

After a night high in the mountains at over 1600m, surrounded by snow and gale force winds… the weather forced us to rethink everything. What started as a plan to push higher into the Alps quickly changed. Roads ahead were uncertain, conditions unpredictable… and sometimes the best decision is knowing when to turn back. So instead of climbing further, we descended. From snow-covered mountain roads, down through the Col de Rousset, into a completely different world — sunshine, quiet valleys, and some of the most peaceful roads we’ve experienced so far. This turned into something we didn’t expect… One of those rare vanlife days where everything just slows down. We explored the beautiful town of Die, followed the river through the valley, and ended the day parked just metres from the water — a perfect place to stop, reflect, and reset the journey. This wasn’t the plan… But sometimes the best days never are. If you enjoy slower travel, quiet roads, and real moments on the road — this is what vanlife is really about. 📍 Locations featured: – Col de Rousset – Die, France – Drôme Valley 🚐 Follow the journey as we continue deeper into the Alps New episodes every few days.
