The rising importance of human interface in a tech-dominated world | Steven Van Belleghem | TEDxULB

We are moving into phase three of the digital evolution. Phase 3 is about artificial intelligence and automation. The way that people buy, customer service and branding will fundamentally change during this phase. Some people claim that phase 3 of digital is the end of the human interface. In this talk, Steven convinces us of the opposite. The law of scarcity starts to play. The human interactions between companies and customers are becoming more and more scarce, and because of that, the importance is increasing. Humans used to work with their hands, now they work with their brain, in the day after tomorrow humans will learn to work with their heart. This talk explains how companies can combine the strengths of digital with the strengths of humans. Steven is the author of four bestselling books. He became known for his first book, The Conversation Manager, which won the award for most innovative marketing book of 2010. Steven also wrote The Conversation Company, When Digital Becomes Human (best marketing book of 2015) and his most recent book, Customers The Day After Tomorrow. Over 100,000 copies of his books were sold and they are published in 7 languages. Customers the day after tomorrow is nominated for the award of best international business book. Steven is also an entrepreneur. He is a co-founder of consultancy firm Nexxworks and the co-founder of content creation company Snackbytes. He spent the first 12 years of his career as a consultant and managing partner of the innovative market research company InSites Consulting. During that time, the company grew from 8 to 130 staff with offices in 5 countries. Steven is also a part-time marketing professor at Vlerick Business School. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
