On June 3rd, I began my journey from the westernmost point of the African continent, the Cape of Dakar in Senegal, while being caressed by the sea breeze. However, I was soon held up at the Guinea border, resulting in an unexpected two consecutive nights of sleeping outdoors. I spent the nights under the roofs of restaurants and on the eaves of uncharted settlements, sharing meals and lodging with people who couldn't afford to spend money on travel.
