Living on €1500 a Month in Rural France

Living on €1500 a month in rural France — this is what my life actually costs. Many envision a château life filled with luxury, but I live in rural France on a budget of 1500 euros a month. This video breaks down the actual cost of living, offering a realistic look at personal finance in the French countryside. Discover my frugal living tips and how I sustain a comfortable life in a château without extravagance. A little note because a few questions came up repeatedly 💕 French healthcare is included in my monthly URSSAF contributions, so it’s not a separate large expense like it often is in other countries. My mutuelle (the little add-on insurance) is already included in the insurance costs mentioned in the video. Anita’s food is also included in my grocery budget — dog food here is thankfully quite affordable. Another big difference is transport: I drive an electric car and have solar panels, so my car “fuel” is essentially part of my electricity costs. I mostly charge at night when French electricity rates are much lower. And lastly, one thing I maybe didn’t explain clearly enough: life here is very communal. We often cook and eat together with friends, my boyfriend, and people in the village, so food costs are naturally shared quite a lot. It’s not a commune 😄 — just a slower, more collective way of living that I’ve really grown to love. Of course everyone’s situation, habits and priorities are different, but I wanted this video to be an honest glimpse into what my life currently looks like here in rural France 👇 Say hello in the comments – I always love hearing from you. — Stay connected: 🌍 Website: ledemichateau.com 📸 Instagram: @le_demi_chateau 🧡 Support:   / ledemichateau   Favorite books, cooking tools and everyday items from the château: https://www.amazon.com/shop/lifewitha...
