Diesel Thrash. Class 35 'Hymek' Brake van ride.

In this video we are at the East Lancashire railway. We are riding a Brake van getting some diesel thrash behind a Hymek diesel hydraulic locomotive. This is a Heritage railway in the north of the UK that operates between Bury Bolton Street station and Rawtenstall. Our ride behind a heritage diesel engine is between Bury Bolton street and Ramsbottom. The class 35 Hymek diesel hydraulic was built between 1961 and 1964 at the Beyer Peacock company in Gorton Manchester. It had a Maybach MD 870 diesel engine ad a Mekydro transmission that earned the locomotive the nickname Hymek. 101 of these diese locomotives were built. This video is definitely one for the diesel railway enthusiasts as there is plenty of thrash and clag up the line. These locomotives were 1700 horsepower and all allocated to the western region.
