120 Jahre Lokalbahn Amstetten–Gerstetten | Modellbahn, Dampflok, Diesellok & Jubiläumsfest

To celebrate the 120th anniversary of the Amstetten–Gerstetten local railway, the Ulm Railway Enthusiasts (UEF) organized a large railway festival in Gerstetten on July 4th and 5th, 2026. Numerous visitors took the opportunity to experience historic railway vehicles, the large model railway exchange in the engine shed, and the diverse supporting program. Due to the high risk of forest and grassland fires, a conscious decision was made not to use steam locomotive 75 1118 on the line. Instead, it was used for cab rides at the station, as firefighting capabilities are better there, and the risk of causing a fire is significantly lower. On the line, the historic MAK 800 D, known as the "V80"—a diesel-hydraulic industrial locomotive manufactured by Maschinenbau Kiel (MaK)—hauled the trains.
