Over time, the plastic used in the factory taillight housings becomes brittle and prone to cracking. The lights themselves are long, which places additional leverage on the mounting tabs, and when you combine that with engine heat and vibration, the mounting points eventually fail, and the taillight becomes loose. Many people attempt to repair this by simply epoxying the broken mounting tabs back onto the light. Unfortunately, that doesn’t address the root problem. The plastic itself has already deteriorated, and the repair usually fails again. Replacing the taillights with new units from Ferrari can cost thousands of dollars, especially considering there are four lights on the car. Aftermarket LED replacements are also available, but many owners prefer to keep their cars original. In this video, I’ll walk through the proper way to remove the taillights on a Ferrari F430, show where and why the mounting tabs fail, and demonstrate how to install reinforcement brackets that permanently solve the issue. This repair redistributes the load away from the fragile plastic and strengthens the mounting points, creating a durable, long-term solution that keeps the original factory taillights while saving thousands of dollars. Whether you own an F430, are considering buying one, or just enjoy seeing how these cars are properly serviced, this video gives a behind-the-scenes look at a common Ferrari problem and the correct way to fix it.
