It has seen extensive use since the 1980s and has been exported to several allied nations. Key Features of the F/A-18 Hornet Multirole Capability: Can switch between fighter and attack missions mid-flight (hence the "F/A" designation). Carrier-Capable: Designed for aircraft carrier operations with reinforced landing gear and tail hook. Twin-Engine Design: Uses General Electric F404 engines for high maneuverability and redundancy. Advanced Avionics: Equipped with radar, electronic warfare systems, and modern targeting pods. Combat Proven: Used in major conflicts like the Gulf War, Iraq War, and Afghanistan. Variants F/A-18A/B Hornet – Original versions (A = single-seat, B = two-seat).
