The Nokia 6120 classic is a mid-range smartphone from Nokia that was announced on April 17, 2007. [2] It runs on Symbian v9.2 with an S60 3rd Edition FP1 user interface. It is Nokia's first dual-band UMTS / HSDPA phone that also features quad-band GSM, compatible with both 2G and 3G/UMTS networks. Not to be confused with the Nokia 6120, a different mobile from 1997. The 6120's classic user interface lacks the typical 3D animated menu items, as well as some software (believed to be Nokia standard), such as the stopwatch. However, since it uses the Symbian operating system, third-party programs can be installed to recover those applications. It has a secondary front camera for video calls. The camera resolution is only 320x240, since video calls are only displayed on the screens of other terminals. The front camera can also be used to take self-portraits. The normal camera is a 2 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, but without autofocus. The phone has a standard Mini USB connector that does not charge the battery. When a USB cable is connected, the phone asks what type of connection to make, with a choice of media player, PC-suite, or data transfer. Data transfer mode allows the phone to function as a mass storage device making a card reader (to access the phone's microSD card) unnecessary. The telephone base also features a 4-part 2.5mm plug for the supplied handset. When the supplied 4-part 2.5mm earphones are connected, they can function as an antenna for the stereo FM radio which is also supported by Visual Radio. A 3-part 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter can be connected for use with standard headphones; however, since normal headphones do not have a microphone, this function may be more suitable for viewing/listening to media only. The audio player supports MP3, M4A, eAAC+ and WMA formats. iTunes protected audio is not supported; however, music from iTunes Plus can be played on the phone. The phone is capable of recording video-QVGA with a resolution of 320x240 at 15 fps. The front camera can also be used, but only with a resolution of 176x144. For video playback the phone supports H.264/MPEG-4 AVC , H.263 , RealVideo 7,8,9,10.
