The cambelt on the Lotus Elan M100 should be replaced every second C service at 60,000 miles or every five years, whichever comes sooner. If you are here because you are in the middle of the job and are stuck,, don't despair, it is possible. But it does leave you with symptoms similar to World War I shell shock.
