Katmai Bears 7-16-26. Bear #164 Attacks #807, #99 Briefly Joins; All Appear to be OK. explore.org

Bears 807 and 99 are fishing close to one another. 807 appears to be watching to the left. 164 comes into view from the left, and some of the other bears including 99 start moving, as they usually do when 164 comes into view (01:00). 807 does not move. 164 comes in with his first shove, which 807 defends against. 99 comes in from behind 807 and bites him. This distracts 807 as he turns to defend against 99. In the same instant, 164 now has the advantage of 807's side/back, and takes 807 down. 99 disengages, and 164 holds 807 under water. 807's head can be seen coming up for air. It takes 807 approximately 8 seconds to get his feet under him. 807 is a thick powerful bear and is able to move forward with the huge 164 on his back and biting him. 807 gets turned around to face 164. Replay then starts at 01:46 with zoom view. After the zoom view, the remainder of the video is watching until 164 (dominant) walks away from 807. 807 remained at the falls to continue fishing. All three bears appeared to be OK, as far as being able to move around. 807 will obviously have some wounds; we will wait to see all three in better light on the cams. Links: 1.
