Wherever you are: in a city with a population of over a million or in a remote village - there will always be a mountain/hill nearby that you can climb. During each trip to Busan, we always set aside time for trekking in the mountains. This time we decided to climb 470 meters on the lift to Kumgang Park, walk to the southern gate of Nammun and climb to a height of 570 m; then walk along the ridge to the Buddhist monastery of Seokbulsa, and then, with a sense of accomplishment, go down 300 m to the nearest metro. It took us 3.5 hours in total. This was just one of dozens of trails near Mount Geumjeongsan. You can choose a trek along the medieval fortress wall, as well as a full-day route with a visit to the watchtowers and a finish at the Beomeosa Monastery. When choosing a trail, be critical of the indicated travel time. It is calculated for energetic Korean grandfathers who have been hiking in the mountains all their lives. Always allow a good amount of time and do not forget to take water with you: there will be no free fountains along the route, like in Seoul. Gwangalli Beach We visited the world-famous Haeundae Beach (해운대) on our last trip, and this time we decided to look at the second most popular beach in Busan, Gwangalli Beach (광안리). Its main feature is the view of the 7-kilometer Gwanan suspension bridge, which is beautifully illuminated in the evening. Various events are also regularly held there: from concerts and master classes to exhibitions and lectures. We arrived there on a gloomy November day and found ourselves at a free exhibition with flower installations that added color to the surrounding landscape. Walking along the sea, we saw small groups of young guys and girls for the first time in this city. Before that, we only met elderly people on the streets and in transport. There are also a lot of pensioners on the beach, and they are very active: they walk briskly along the wet sand, do exercises or just wet their feet in the sea that has not yet cooled down.
