Safeguarding the Endemic Birds of Mauritius
Under the GEF-funded "Mainstreaming Invasive Alien Species: Prevention, Control and Management" (IAS) project, the UNDP is supporting efforts to safeguard the population of Mauritius Olive-White Eye and other endemic birds in the Combo area of the Black River Gorges National Park. Non-toxic ethical traps have been procured under the IAS project are being set up by the National Parks and Conservation Services in collaboration with Ebony Forest Ltd to manage and control invasive alien species that threaten endemic bird species.
