La "Manhattan de África" no es un milagro

They say Abidjan is the "Manhattan of Africa," and one look at its skyline is enough to understand why. But after traveling through the rural interior of Ivory Coast, arriving in this metropolis raised an urgent question: At what cost was all this built? After a year traveling through West Africa, the shock of entering Abidjan was brutal. Skyscrapers, world-class highways, and international chains... the shock was inevitable. However, behind the glass facade and the nickname "economic miracle," there is a history, geopolitical phenomena, and a social reality that doesn't always appear in the postcards. In this video, we set aside the purely touristic perspective to understand the model that sustains the country's most important city. Is this development a sign of real progress for Ivorians or a bubble financed from abroad? Welcome to the most modern (and contradictory) face of Ivory Coast. 👇 Do you think this city model is the future for Africa or just wishful thinking?
