Winterthur - Veltheim (CH - ZH) Glocken der ref. Kirche

The first mention of a church in the Veltheim district dates back to 1230, when Count Hartmann the Elder acquired the village and patronage. This church was a small chapel on the north-east side of today's church. The church on the current site was also built as a chapel in the early 14th century. In 1482, the existing choir with altars was built on the site of the 2nd chapel, and the nave was added sometime before 1358. Master builder Stüdli began work on the tower in 1498. In 1892, the nave was extended to the north and the roof was raised. The old bells consisted of a Gothic bell from the 14th century, one from 1724 and one from 1819, which were replaced in 1885 by a bell from Jakob II Keller. Data on the bells: Disposition: c' e' g' c'' Year cast: 1885 by Jakob II Keller Many thanks to the friendly sigrist for opening the tower.
