Step into a world of dripping ferns, gushing gullies and sweeping treetop vistas... Coed Felinrhyd & Llennyrch is a rare, Atlantic oak woodland covers 310-hectares (765-acres) and one of our largest woods in Wales. The woods date back an astonishing 10,000 years to the last ice age. These ancient places, found above the Vale of Ffestiniog, are two of Europe’s best remaining examples of Atlantic oak woodland, otherwise known as temperate rainforest. Coed Felinrhyd & Llennyrch covers 310-hectares (765-acres) in the Snowdonia National Park, and stretches from Llyn Trawsfynydd in the east and almost to the meeting of the Prysor and tidal Dwyryd rivers in the west. Park for free at the layby on the A469 towards Harlech. Walk down towards the Hydropower station passing its entrance on your left.
