Beach City Baby First Flight
On May 14th, 2022 N34DF took to the air at 3:01pm from Venango Regional airport (FKL). Over the last 6 years Vintage Wings Inc. has carefully restored this 1942 Douglas C-53 to her former glory and saw her take off for the first time. Follow along the restoration and flight crews as they prepare and take Beach City Baby to the sky for the first time since her restoration. Beach City Baby has a long history since rolling off the production line in 1942. She served the North African campaign in WWII and created some of the first survey routes and ferry flights to and from England laying the groundwork for what would become known as the North Atlantic Routes used by thousands of aircraft to deliver supplies and personnel to England. She is also well known as "Buckeye One '' and was the official transport aircraft of Governor Rhodes. To learn more about Beach City Baby and Vintage Wings Inc.
