The Department of Labor in 2026 Career Coaching After Hours: Episode 29 April 2026 *** In my latest episode of Career Coaching After Hours, I dive deep into the most exciting federal cabinet-level department of all time...the Department of Labor. It's been a tumultuous ride--the headlines alone have been wild over the past year or so: "Staff decry 'constant turbulence' under Trump's labor secretary, as she blames 'deep state' in resignation" "Ousted Labor Secretary gone too wild" "DOGE's $455 Million in Labor Savings Carry Costs for US Workers" "Worker Protections in Freefall" My concerns aren't necessarily the lurid headlines. It's leaving American workers unprotected. Less money (and fewer inspectors) for OSHA? A lack of focus on the burgeoning juggernaut of AI's effect on jobs? A massive reduction in the enforcement of wage theft cases nationally? These are issues that affect (arguably) all working humans in the United States.
