Scams are booming these days. Job scams especially (and absolutely) burn me. And sadly, I run into them far too often. They're particularly disheartening in this "no-hire-no-fire" job market. On top of that, graduation season is upon us, and new grads are looking for new roles. And everyone is face-to-face with not just AI-enhanced applicant tracking systems...but also hackers and scammers out to do real damage. I cover some of the most common job search scams including fake recruiters, resume re-write scams, pay-to-play schemes, gamification ploys, and work-from-home "dream jobs" that prey on job seekers. Maybe more importantly, I also focus on how to protect yourself on the job search trail and identify some of the cross-pollination of yellow, orange, and red flags to watch out for out there.
