A 28-year-old man surnamed Lin in Taichung was caught driving under the influence of alcohol after partying at a nightclub in the early hours of the morning. While driving his rented Maybach, worth over ten million yuan, on Provincial Highway 74, he allegedly rear-ended a car that was attempting to change lanes. The impact completely destroyed the front of the luxury car, deployed all airbags, and injured two occupants who were taken to the hospital. Police administered a breathalyzer test at the scene, revealing Lin's blood alcohol level to be over 1 milligram. He has been transferred to the prosecutor's office for investigation on suspicion of endangering public safety.
