I've wondered about these! Soho Urban Artist Soft Pastel Review
I've had my eyes on these pastels for years so when they went on sale for half off a few months ago I had to buy a set! https://amzn.to/3SbRtJr Pros: Price Well-balanced color selection Smooth application Layers well without fixative (I'd call this a medium softness) Low dust Cons: Nop open stock availability (although I think they used to sell jumbo sticks individually) No pigment or lightfast info Bottom line: Yes, I recommend these pastels if you can find them at a good price. I think the 90 color set is usually the best deal but sometimes the 120 set goes on sale for $5 more than the 90 set. If you are going to pay full price I would compare this set to the Sennelier 120 set and buy the Sennelier instead if the price is close but honestly, even at full price I would recommend them. I don't think I've ever used a medium hard pastel that was this smooth, usually, the medium harness pastels feel more dry and chalky. These almost feel like they have more clay or maybe a smidge of oil in them but they still bend out like a soft pastel. They are kinda magic and I really like them!
