Arrtx Soft Pastels- How Do They Rate?
Today we are going to take a look at the new Arrtx soft pastel set of 48 colors that has just been released: https://amzn.to/3EXXmFs These are budget-friendly, medium-hard soft pastels. Soft as is "chalky", so to be confused with their oil pastels. Pros: Price Pigment info provided Nice storage box Printed color swatch overlay included Cons: Some colors are scratchy The black and white are not very robust so I recommend buying those colors from another brand like Sennelier or Schminke to add to the set Bottom line: I think these pastels are OK for the price but they personally wouldn't be my top pick at this price point. Instead, I would recommend the Paul Rubens pastels that also have pigment info but are much softer: https://amzn.to/3SL7bw6 or the Soho which are smoother: https://amzn.to/3mo6eO2 That said, the Arrtx are not bad pastels but I think you will want some softer pastels to layer on top and likely some pastel pencils for details as getting details with the chunky half sticks will be difficult. They are not bad but not my personal preference considering the competition. #arrtx #arrtxarrtx48softpastels Try a class! https://lindsayweirich.teachable.com NEW!
