They also have the highest rates of temporary employment in the entire European Union. All of this explains the enormous economic inequalities. Spain is the third most unequal country in Europe. In this case, these differences between rich and poor are explained by age. Those over 50 enjoy enviable working conditions and some of the most generous retirement pensions in the world.
