I arrive in Kutaisi after about 5 hours from Tbilisi, settle into the cheapest hostel in the city, and begin exploring without too many expectations. And that's exactly how Kutaisi begins to tell its story. In this episode, we explore: • the historic center and the main square with the Colchis Fountain • the city at dawn, amidst buildings, history, and a tranquil atmosphere • the myth of the Golden Fleece and its connection to the ancient Kingdom of Colchis • Bagrati Cathedral, the city's historic symbol • the local markets, authentic and authentic • the White Bridge with the statue of a child gazing at the river • and we understand if Kutaisi is just a city of passage... or something more Kutaisi is different from Tbilisi: slower, simpler, less chaotic.
