PATH: the Train from New Jersey to New York City
The New York City subway is an iconic symbol of the city, but did you know there is another rapid transit network that serves Manhattan? The distinctive blue Port Authority Trans-Hudson trains (PATH, for short) travel underneath the Hudson River, connecting New York City with Hoboken, Jersey City, and Newark through two tunnels, the Hudson Tubes, that date back to 1908. In this video, we take a short trip on a PATH train from Exchange Place to World Trade Center, traveling through the Downtown Hudson Tube and admiring the impressive architecture of the Oculus. Trains Are Awesome!
