Kids meeting Baby Sister for the first time & Baby Name Reveal

The day before the baby was born, we took Maddie and Lucca to Juju's house because we felt that the baby would come the next day, and sure enough, that's what happened. We were only allowed to have a doula, myself, and one other person in the room for the delivery and Charlotte's mom, Juju, was the other person we chose to be in the room. The first time the girls saw their new sister was on Facetime a few minutes after she was born, and I could tell they were so excited to meet her after all the anticipation from the last nine months of them having a new sister. We knew they wouldn't meet in person for a day at most, but we had no idea that it would be four days before they met, and that was another reason why being kept in the hospital for her bilirubin levels was so difficult. We wanted to be united as a family of 5 for the first time. Before the baby came, Charlotte had Maddie and Lucca pick out gifts to introduce their new baby sister to our family and also got a gift from the baby to gift the girls. Charlotte did this for Maddie and Lucca after Lucca was born, and I think this helped Maddie with this transition of not being the only baby in the family. You never know how this significant change will affect kids, even when you do all you can tell them there will be change and that it's an exciting change.
