बुग्यालों के परे | Nanda Kund Trek | Day 3

This is the third video of this trip and on our third day, we had to reach Nanda Kund and return back to our car at Birthi bridge. Location on Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/HbCCrpuBPLtzhJNW6 Nanda Kund.... This beautiful pool near Hiramani glacier is a priceless heritage of nature. Situated amidst lush green meadows (Bugyal), this pool is situated at an altitude of around 4100 meters (13500 feet) above sea level. There are many ways to reach this place. Trek 1 - Gogina, Namik, Thal Thok, Chufu Top, Ranthan Top, Sudum Khan, Nanda Kund (around 21 kms) Trek 2 - Balati Band (Munsyari), Khaliya Top, Senargad Medows, Dhal Dauk, Sudumkhan, Nanda Kund (around 30 kms) Trek 3 - Birthi, Rugair, Sungari Top, Thala Bugyaal, Thal Thok, Chufu Top, Ranthan Top, Sudum Khan, Nanda Kund (around 25 kms) We chose Trek 3 to reach Nanda Kund. It was one of the most difficult Treks of my life. We were running behind the estimated time due to heavy rain and hailstones. It was the month of may and we had to face snow there. We had to cover total of around 40-50 kms (up and down) in 3 days. 🛕 Mythological Beliefs: It is believed that maa Nanda took bath in this pool. Nanda devi is known as daughter of Himalayas in Uttarakhand and the cultural impacts of Nanda Devi can easily be seen in Uttaranchal. The largest peak of Uttarakhand is named after Nanda (Nanda Devi 7816m) and there are many other peaks which are named after main Nanda Devi peak. 🛕 Nanda Devi Raj Jat (नंदा देवी राजजात): Nanda Devi is one of the main deities of Uttarakhand region. "Nanda Devi Raj Jaat Yatra" takes place in honor of the Maa Nanda Devi. Though Nanda Devi is worshipped in various regions of Uttarakhand, the region around Mt. Nanda Devi and its sanctuary which lie in Pithoragarh district, Chamoli district and Almora district are the key areas related to Nanda Devi. As Maa Nanda is seen as daughter of Himalayas and she visited he Mother's house and when she leaves, people give her emotional farewell. Every year people from nearby villages gather and go to Nanda Kund and worship Maa Nanda. 🌸 Brahmakamal (ब्रह्मकमल): Brahma Kamal, also known as Saussurea Obvallata, belongs to the thistle tribe of flowering plants. This is the State Flower of Uttarakhand. People say that this flower blooms only one night in a year, and that too, after sunset. It takes two hours or so for it to bloom fully to 8 inches in diameter. 🏔 Dangthal: Dangthal is snow-capped Himalayan peak lying in Nanda Devi parent range of Uttarakhand. The peak has an altitude of 6,050 metres (19,850 ft). This place is the origin of river Ramganga which flows through my hometown (Thal). This mountain surrounds one side of Hiramani Glacier.
