Wild and Scenic Allegheny River – Oil City to Emlenton – 3 Day Paddle Adventure This Allegheny River Paddle adventure is a 42 mile, 3 day/2 night SUP paddle from Oil City to Emlenton PA. We explored the designated Wild and Scenic river, passing by small towns, creeks, bridges, beautiful islands and wilderness and wildlife along the way. Stats for the 1st day: 2.5 Hours on the water 7 miles travelled Average pace of 21:59 per mile Average speed 2.7 miles per hour On night 1 we camped at the Samuel Justus Recreation Trail in Franklin, PA. Maps indicated camping was permitted in this area along the river and bike trail. This is a walk up first-come first-served campground.
